I arrived in the UK in 2011 after growing up in Kenya. Before I began working for Hall Hunter, I was studying for my degree at the University of Reading.
My first experience with Hall Hunter was at Sheeplands Farm during university holidays, to gain more knowledge and hands-on experience. I knew just one person when I joined the team, a friend who I’d met during a university trip to Sheeplands Farm.
I was made to feel very welcome which was great, it’s a really supportive environment to live and work in.
My ambition is to continue my learning and development, with a view to becoming Farm Manager in the future. Since joining, I’ve worked at Sheeplands Farm, Colworth Farm, and Leythorne & Donaldsons Nurseries – every farm offers a new and interesting opportunity to learn.
During my time here, I’ve enjoyed being a part of the ongoing drive for efficiency and to be the best soft fruit farm in the UK. I’ve made many friends, from all nationalities and all ages, it’s like a family away from home.
