Student Agricultural Workers Scheme (SAWS)

A large part of our work force is made up of students who are part of the Student Agricultural Workers Scheme. To be part of the scheme you need to be:

  • At least 18 years old, with a full passport
  • A full time student, but not in your final year of study. The status must be proved by an Education Evidence Document on official University paper, stamped and signed by the Dean/Rector.

It is also required that all participants are studying either the English language or an Agricultural subject and that they are able to speak English. We do not accept SAWS students directly, but you can apply through Concordia.
Most of our supervisors started out as SAWS students and between them are fully conversant in English, Polish, Bulgarian, Russian and many other languages.

Students from Commonwealth countries

If you are a student from a Commonwealth country, you can work in the UK provided you have a “Working Holiday” permit. These can be obtained from the British Embassy in your home country before you travel to the UK.
