QA Manager
From Plovdiv, Bulgaria
I grew up in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. My grandfather worked in agriculture but my
Mum was a teacher and father an officer in the Army. I originally wanted to
study medicine, but through the Bulgarian system, I started on a degree in
Plant Protection at Plovdiv University and at the end of the first year, I
didn't want to leave and try for medicine.
Whilst studying my degree I came to England in 1999 and worked at a soft fruit
farm in the New Forest as a Picker, and returned for four more years as a QC
in the packhouse.
In 2005 I moved to London and replied to an advert in the Farmers Weekly for
the QA Manager position here at HHP and have been here ever since. Although
the title remains the same, the job has grown in line with the way the company
has grown.
I've stayed because the job gives me lots of challenges - every day is different
and HHP gives me the opportunity to work, develop as a professional and look
after my family and be happy doing this.
