Growing soft fruit at HHPHHP grows strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries, with strawberries and raspberries being our main crops. The strawberry varieties grown are Elsanta and Everest. Elsanta has been grown in the UK for many seasons and is the most popular variety because of its flavour, appearance, shelf life and texture. These qualities mean that customers can buy fruit that tastes good and doesn’t have to be eaten immediately. Everest provides similar positive characteristics. The raspberry main crops are Tulameen and Ample. They also provide great flavour and long shelf lives. The late varieties are Joan Squire, Caroline and Josephine. We grow Loch Ness blackberries and the blueberry varieties are Duke, Pura and Nui. |
