Overview: Heathlands Farm is the ´home´ farm of HHP. Mark and Mary Hall have been farming on Heathlands Farm since 1966. It has historically produced vegetables for the London markets but is now fully dedicated to the production of strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries. The farm is also HHP´s administrative centre and houses the workshops and the transport office.
Size: 196 acres
Wild life on Heathlands Farm: We are commited to nurture the wild life from our farm. Within our boundaries we have deers and rabitts living in a friendly environment.

Work at Heathlands:
We grow a large selection of soft fruits: strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries.
Type of work:
Planting, husbandry work, picking and packing. The vast majority of the crop is protected by poly tunnels. These offer a better environment for plants to grow and for pickers to work by protecting them from rain.
Part of our strawberry crop is on table tops. This means that the plants are at 1.4 meters above the ground, offering an easy way of picking the fruits.

Our packhouse is the largest from the Hall Hunter, having more than 100 workers in the season.

Heathlands facilities:
Wirelless internet connection: Keep yourself up-to-date with news, speak with your family and friends. Connect your laptop or phone to the network and start chatting.
Tennis court and football pitch: If you enjoy the sport then these two facilities should offert you moments of relaxation.

Closest Town: The farm is 2 miles south of Wokingham, Berkshire. This is also where much of the propagation of new plants for the following years is done.

Vox populi:
Here is a review from one of our workers.
Marian Sprinceana - Heathlands Farm, picker
I came for the first in the UK in 2010 with the SAWS program (Concordia) and I worked as a picker for Heathlands Farm. My first two weeks was very difficult because I`ve never worked before in agriculture. After that period of time I start to enjoy the work and to earn good money. It is a hard work, but if you like to work and want to earn money, here is the place to come.
I had days when I earned up to £80/day and other pickers, more experienced than me, could earn £110/day. There was also days with not too much work, when I earned £20/day, but over all from 31 May 2010- to 24 Oct 2010 I earned in total £5679. From this amount I paid £610 in Tax (money that can be claimed next year) and £370 for National Insurance number. Also I paid £630 for the accommodation.
So in less than 5 month I was able to save more than £3500.
As a conclusion I has happy to work for Heathlands farm, and I want to come back next year, when, having experience I know I`ll earn more money.
